Hold the press – the new autistic Barbie Doll has an AAC device. 🩷 What incredible representation & a wonderful way to raise much-needed AAC awareness. 🙌

I showed Ethan straight away when I spotted this today & could say, look Ethan she uses an AAC device just like you. 😭

I’m aware there has been online criticism of autistic Barbie today, including someone calling the AAC device a calculator (with a huge huge reach) – but, for us it’s representation & this matters. I have seen so many people discussing AAC & autism online today following this release – how brilliant one of the largest brands in the world has created this. That feels positive to me, bring on the AAConversations. 🩷
