I’m incredibly proud to share that the Speak Up for Autism campaign is heading to Parliament! On Monday 2nd November there will be a Parliamentary drop-in in support of the campaign sponsored by Cat Eccles Labour MP in association with the APPG for Autism secretariat – The National Autistic Society.
This is huge news for the campaign & huge for autistic individuals & their families who need to access Speech Therapy. 🌈 A chance to share with those who can bring about change, alongside supporters of the campaign, just how important Speak Up for Autism is. Speech Therapy is failing autistic individuals time & time again & this is devastating. I strongly believe that additional autism-specific training for all Speech Therapists would go a huge way in changing this.
Please invite your MP to attend, to find out more & to get more details about how they can support the campaign. Copy & paste the email below – thanks so much!
Good afternoon [Insert MP name here]
Thank you for any support you have already shown towards the Speak Up for Autism campaign which calls to “make additional autism-specific training mandatory for all speech therapists.” Speech Therapy is currently failing autistic individuals, and change is long overdue.
It has been confirmed that there will be a Speak Up for Autism Parliamentary Drop in at Portcullis House on Monday 2nd November, 3pm-5pm. The drop-in is sponsored by Cat Eccles, Labour MP, and is run in association with the APPG for Autism secretariat – The National Autistic Society.
It would be wonderful if you or a representative could attend to support the campaign & find out more on behalf of your local constituency.
As your constituent, I also wanted to share that an Early Day Motion (EDM 29) has been tabled in Parliament in support of the campaign, with 39 MP signatures already confirmed. Please could you consider signing in support.
