“Thank you for your excellent speech at the APPG for Assistive Technology within the Houses of Parliament. I’ve heard from so many people how powerful your presentation was. This meeting was Josh Fenton-Glynn MP’s first as our new chair and I know it has made a strong impression on him, helping deepen his understanding and commitment to AAC.”
You did more than “just” making your son proud Laura, you were absolutely phenomenal! I loved your talk and really feel it will help to push things forward.
Thank you for delivering an incredible keynote, we had so many comments on what a great presenter you were. Looking forward to more collaboration in the future!
True advocate for the AAC community, inspirational talk around the power of AAC as a parent. Open and honest around the need for more training and funding. Would highly recommend.
It was a privilege to hear Laura speak at the Communication works conference in Greater Manchester. Her story as a parent and AAC advocate is a powerful and personal one. I was moved and enraged and delighted all within about 10 minutes! I’d recommend all speech therapists particularly those working with autistic children to hear Laura speak and really listen.
Thank you Laura
I recently attended the ACE Centre Communication Works conference. Laura opened the event with such confidence and shared her valuable insight as a parent, advocate, and quiet frankly as an educator for all those new to, or still learning the value of, AAC.
Parent engagement and collaboration is an essential tool in providing every child with the ability to communicate; in the modality that is right for them.
It was a pleasure to hear Laura speak at a recent event at Parliament, where she spoke about her son’s journey with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). Laura speaks honestly about her experience and, whilst she talks about topics which at times can be difficult to hear, she is also able to convey the joy in seeing her son’s communication develop and share magical moments of connection which give you goosebumps.
Laura spoke amazingly about her son’s and her journey. As the mum of an 18 year old child with autism, I was blown away by how well Laura could articulate their journey and how amazingly she is advocating for her son. Well done Laura you made the room stop and listen to every word. I was very emotional at the end of your talk for many reasons and I have no doubt your son is as proud of you as you are of him. Keep fighting Laura, it’s people like you who really do make a difference.
Inspirational speaker and passionate about all things AAC! It was a pleasure to hear your experience and can’t wait to connect in the future!!
Laura gave a fantastic speech in parliament sharing her family’s journey into the world of AAC. Inspiring, passionate and thought provoking.
In Autumn 2024 I had the pleasure of co-hosting a highly successful webinar with Laura focused on AAC and TD Snap with over 200 registrants.
Laura’s preparation, heartfelt storytelling and passion for AAC were evident through the session. Her dedication to advocating for AAC and willingness to share personal experiences have undoubtedly made a lasting impression to attendees including speech therapists, teachers and parents of autistic children.
I highly recommend Laura for her exceptional storytelling and presentation skills on topics surrounding AAC, inclusion and disability advocacy.
A heartfelt thank you to Laura for an incredibly impactful Autism Awareness training session provided at the SASP Offices last week! 🌈 Laura was clear, patient and provided a safe space to discuss and educate on Autism. One highlight for me was the exercise on exploring diverse communication methods which left me feeling very moved and put into the shoes of an autistic individual needing to communicate. Super insightful, impactful and meaningful!
