I’m an AT Scholar for 2026!

04/09/2025

I’m absolutely honoured, thrilled & to be honest still a little bit in shock to share the incredibly exciting news that I have been chosen as an AT [Assistive Technology] Scholar.

The British Assistive Technology Scholarship funds AT Scholars to experience the world’s top events in the field & as a result in January I will be flying to Florida to soak up all the knowledge, inspiration & knowledge that ATIA 2026 has to offer – the leading learning event for all things AT.

The judging panel looks for those who have a passion for learning more about all things Assistive Technology & who love to share & promote all the exciting developments in their world & I couldn’t be prouder to join a fantastic list of AT professionals & organisations who have had this opportunity. I couldn’t let an opportunity to apply pass me by, but never for a moment did I truly believe I would be chosen.

I’m more than a little bit excited to attend & to bring back my new-found knowledge & I am sure an even greater passion for all things AAC. Being an AAC advocate, speaking on the subject of AAC & of course the greatest honour – being the parent of an AAC user – now forms a huge part of my life & I can’t wait to grow this even further.

I can’t wait to attend alongside Kate Reader & to hear the key takeaways from David Curren & Steven Campbell who will be attending online.

What an incredible opportunity & I’m determined to soak up each & every moment. ✈️🎉
